Connected Beekeeping

As the old saying goes if the bees die, we die. This saying still holds true to this day, and arguably the bees have become even more important in the current day. This use-case is about a company that made monitoring bee hives easier and more effective than ever before: Connected Beekeeping

Bee colonies can face problems during winter months. Some colonies weaken because their queen is weakened or the colony is being swarmed, some colonies stay strong but because of the humidity the honey harvest can suffer, or in some scenarios, colonies can die off entirely. This makes beekeepers' jobs highly demanding as they need to constantly monitor the hives. To remotely monitor these hives and prevent disasters from happening, one of our enclosure customers Jérôme created the agrotech company “Connected Beekeeping”. Connected Beekeeping was created after Jérôme left his engineering job and started beekeeping. Jérôme quickly saw that the already existing solutions in the market weren’t satisfying his needs. Jérôme decided to take matters into his own hands and created a product and a system for his own hives. After much demand, he decided to sell his products and started Connected Beekeeping. Connected Beekeeping offers their customers economical connected hive scale options to monitor. The company has several hundred professionals using its products.

A product like this goes through hard conditions, hard conditions of weather in Nordic countries like Finland, Germany, and Denmark combined with intense sun UV exposure in the south of France. The product needs an enclosure that can go through all of these hard conditions. A company like this, of course, puts in the time and effort to find and use the best enclosure for their products. Connected Beekeeping’s choice when it came down to which enclosure to choose from, they decided to go with one of our enclosures from our Hinged Enclosure series. They took advantage of our in-house customization services. The end product was an enclosure that fit the systematic requirements of their customers. On top of the systematic requirements, by using the UV Printing service, they were able to brand their enclosures.
